Education
Sugar farm laborers usually lack basic education and productive skills. This hinders them from landing good paying jobs outside the farm. Unable to leave, they work in the farms from generation to generation. Thus, poverty goes on and on. To break this vicious cycle, the Educational Aid Program (EDAP) was thus conceived in 1975.

One of the strategies adopted by SIFI is the provision of soft loans and/or financial grants to organized sugar workers/marginal planters to assist them jump start Income Generating Projects or allow them to develop their competencies in various areas that would enable them to operate with sustainability.
